As the Gatwick Express line is closing for engineering works between Thursday 24th December and Monday 4th January - you may want to consider some alternatives for your airport transfer. A replacement train and bus service will be in operation, but will take roughly an hour longer than the usual service.
A three day closure over Christmas means no overground rail services will be running between Paddington and Heathrow. Services will not be running from the night of Christmas Eve. Heathrow will still be accessible via the Piccadilly Line but passengers are advised to leave extra time for their journey.
Check out our comparisons below, to see why a minibus could be the simplest option for you and your fellow travellers to get from door to airport.
To get a quote for your transfer give our travel advisers a ring on 0203 397 4460 or fill out the quick quote form at the top of the page. They'll then compare prices at the nearest of our 80 depots covering Gatwick and London and give you the best value deal.
8 Gatwick Express single tickets would cost you around £80 - £110, for roughly the same price you could book a minibus to take you door to door, cutting down on the travel time to and from Victoria station to catch the replacement service and making your journey faster and much easier.
There is no service on the tube on the 25th so the only public transport option is a long journey on multiple buses. If you're traveling with a lot of luggage (or presents!) in the three day period we recommend a minibus or a couple of taxis depending on the size of your group. For a cheaper alternative to the taxi, get an instant price from our sister service Silver Shuttle here.
