Trips to the pleasant city of Oxford can be a lot of fun for the entire family. If you have a family member who is interested in music then the Bates Collection of Musical Instruments may be a big hit. This is one of the largest collections of musical instruments in the world with over 2,000 instruments on display from Renaissance times up through the modern era. In addition to the instrument displays there is a library of over 3,000 books written on musical instruments and their history as well. Admission is free to this museum. If plants and gardening are your interests you may wish to head for the University Of Oxford Botanic Garden. This facility is used to support teaching programmes and research within the University. Admission for students is free and there are guided tours at regular times throughout the day and on weekends as well.
